ISO17025:2005 Calibrations
The only way to guarantee the integrity of test data is to ensure the equipment is providing
accurate results. How? By performing calibration and verification of all measurements.
ISO 9001 and TS 16949/QS9000 are standards written to define proper practices for measurement calibration.
ISO 9001 specifies calibration or verification of measuring equipment at specified intervals, and ISO/TS 16949/QS9000 states the verification and calibration services shall be provided by an
organization with a defined scope which includes the capability to perform the required activities.
ISO 17025 accreditation guarantees these concerns and requirements are met. It requires that testing and calibration laboratories demonstrate they operate a quality management system, are technically competent, and are able to generate technically valid results.
We have invested in training and new equipment, adjusted the robustness of our processes for field calibrations, and determined the Best Measurement Capability (measurement uncertainty) for the parameters in our scope.
UKAS, an auditing and accrediting organisation, then conducted a very thorough review of our quality management system, evaluated our service personnel for knowledge and competency, and analysed our instrumentation, paperwork and calculations.
The result was a successful assessment to ISO 17025:2005 |
